Simmons Gold Firm Pillowtop

Tony, I need your expert help! I just bought a bed frame at Thomasville Furniture in East Hanover, NJ. They also sell Simmons mattresses. So, for convenience, I ordered the Simmons "Gold Firm Pillowtop", but they can't provide me with any details on it. The model number is supposedly 59805-006-01. Can you tell me what Simmons series this falls into? I paid $1800, on sale. But, would rather pay more to get the right mattress. I think the new Black line may be more the technology I'm looking for. My current Simmons that I bought in 2008 from Macy's --the Felicia---is sagging after just a little over two years. Robert, You are right.  There isn't much information on the Simmons Gold Firm Pillowtop.  Thomasville does this on purpose so that it's harder to comparison shop and they can make higher profit margins on their models.  It's pretty standard practice for them.  Your instincts are correct -- $1,800 is high for any Simmons Beautyrest model, regardless of what size you bought (even if it was a king size set).  You are also correct that you could do much better with the Simmons Beautyrest Black.  If you're looking for a firmer pillowtop, you may want to consider a Simmons Beautyrest Black Daniella Plush Firm Super Pillowtop.  That's a similar comfort level to the Gold Firm Pillowtop that you were looking at.  On a scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the hardest to 10 being the softest), the Daniella is a "5", which is a middle-of-the-road feel.   I regard the Beautyrest Black coil unit to be the best on the market today, and it will give you even better motion separation and support than a standard Beautyrest.   The Daniella also has a lot of high-tech quality filling materials (i.e., padding), like the Next Generation (NxG) memory foam, Renew foam, etc, which will help with durability and minimize body imprints.  Even though it's a little more than the $1,800, it's so much better quality and such a better value.    We offer free delivery, setup, removal, a free sheet set, and of course, there's no sales tax.  If you have any other questions, let me know. 877-454-3211 www.MattressHotlineExpress.com

Simmons Beautyrest Black Devon and Naomi

Tony,

My interest is in the Simmond Beautyrest Black Collection Extra Firm King mattress. Please confirm that Macy's (Naomi) and Mattress Warehouse (Devon) are the same as Mattress Hotline Express (Lexi) correct? Any other info you feel I need to known when considering where to buy from or other names this mattress is called since there seems to be roughly 6 names various companies call the same mattress. Your help would be appreciated!

Answer: 

Yes, that's true: the Simmons Beautyrest Black Lexi is the same as the Naomi as well as the Devon.  However, the Lexi is a pretty hard mattress.  On a scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the hardest to 10 being the softest), the Lexi is about a 2.  This is a good choice for a back sleeper that prefers a hard mattress.  However, if you sleep predominently on your side, you may want to consider the Simmons Beautyrest Black Desiree Plush (firmness level would be a "5").

Q: I have not seen any Simmons Beautyrest Reviews on the Simmons Beautyrest Elite models.  I know they are below the Simmons Beautyrest World Class collection.  What is the difference between these two different classes of Beautyrest?

A: The Simmons Beautyrest Elite collection is not available at any retailers with the exception of Macys and Mattress Firm.  However, the Elite models should be at available at other Simmons retailers by early to mid June.  The Elite lineup replaces the Anniversary lineup.  I was very impressed when I tried out the new Elite Collection at the Simmons mattress show.  They have the "dual stage" coil unit.  The dual stage coil provides extra support once you get to the second part of the coil. Simmons Beautyrest Imperial - closest is the Darlene
